Marvin B. Meyer, a legend in the entertainment business and widely considered one of the pioneers of modern entertainment law.​

Born on May 19, 1924 in Brooklyn, Marvin Meyer moved with his family to Los Angeles and later Boyle Heights. After graduating from Los Angeles High School in 1942, Marvin joined the U.S. Army's Meteorology Cadets program at Pomona College. His extraordinary test scores led him to join the Army's radar program at Harvard Engineering and attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After World War II, Marvin was admitted to the first post- W.W.II class at Harvard Law school, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, in 1948.

After working in legal affairs at MGM and business affairs at MCA,Larry Bielenson recruited Marvin and they co-founded Bielenson & Meyer in 1953, which evolved into Rosenfield, Meyer & Susman, one of the most prominent law firms in the entertainment business.

Marvin Meyer co-founded the NBA’s Phoenix Suns alongside Richard Bloch and singer Andy Williams in 1968, the same year he moved to Beverly Hills. In 1990, He was honored by the Beverly Hills Bar Association as Entertainment Lawyer of the Year. He was Adjunct Professor at USC’s Peter Stark Graduate Film School from 1996-1997, and in his later years he became a trustee for the families of Peck, Peppard, Benny and others from his MCA days.

​Marvin Meyer married Nan Ryan Uhlmann in 1953 and they had a son Michael Meyer, who continues to practice Estate Planning and Entertainment Law. Nan who moved to Beverly Hills with her family in the 1920's, died in 1978 from a skiing accident in Vail, Colorado.
In 1982, Marvin married Helen Alameda Lewis.
He died on Monday, July 16, 2012.​
